For the past ten years, I have run several fan websites, which included several message boards, two RPGs, and LiveJournal community.

During this time, I had to create my own Terms of Service and enforce it whenever a member or user got out of hand. I blocked a variety of spammers, warned members when they made hateful posts (and removed said posts) and rewarded the good members with extra privileges or titles. My goal was to keep it family-friendly as well, so that meant keeping the messages/posts/comments/works of fiction that went live on the websites to be PG-13 or under.
