First of all I'm a graphic designer who can design visual elements and I know basic web development (I can just hire people for that).
What I want to do is start a business to support my families. I'm currently doing a post graduate degree in web development and I'm thinking of changing to or doing another degree in either Marketing or Advertising.
The major reason is because, even though I can design good logo, brochures, website etc I have trouble understanding business terminologies when it comes to business/marketing/advertising etc. I want to help a client brand their business and be able to talk about it with them about their objective, target markets etc etc. I want to have that type of knowledge to hold a conversation.
There is a degree in marketing OR advertising. Unfortunately they don't have both. It's one or the other.
Which one do you think would be best for me?
Since you're already a graphic designer and already seem to have enough experience in graphic design or website design and all that it entails, the degree in marketing would be most helpful especially when you actually start your own business.
