I've graduated with a graphic design degree and I'm a graphic designer. I'm currently doing a post graduate in web though I'm not so good at coding. The main reason is because nowadays people require designers to have web development knowledge too.
I've also worked in a web marketing company doing design before, but I'm more interested in starting a business hence another reason why I'm studying web so I can gain enough knowledge to manage staff if I had a business. A problem is, there's 6 more months until I graduate (its a 1 year course) and right now I'm thinking of changing to a degree in marketing instead.
The main reason is because I was living off very well but now my parent's not in a very good conditions in term of money and their business therefore I want them to help them to retire asap. Finding a full time job will take me YEARS to ever help them so I need to start a business with the necessary knowledge and plan etc..
Do you think it'll be a good idea to change to a degree in marketing now instead of finishing my web degree? I can always hire developers to help me as my previous boss knew nothing about web but hired people like me to design and others to develop for him.

Big step you are going to take and I think it would be right decision if you trust your self, believe yourself, work hard, perseverance is must. If you have financial backup to start a company you can move ahead and also your management degree would be helpful. having graphics designer degree would be also great help but that again you are at the beginning level, not an issue work hard. Once you start your business you will gradually understand the things. Good Luck!
