On the profile page of a freelancer, you can now see the ratings they receive on these external sources, but you can also read some of the testimonials they received from past buyers.

I have used odesk 3 times 1. did a good job, after paying I never heard from him again (Romanian) 2. Translator good work, but hard to pay through odesk.(Bolivian) 3. Did 1/2 the work and took my money never heard from him again(Philippines) I will never use odesk again.
